Exclusive State 48 FC Weekly Update 3/8

The State 48 FC 2015 (Verrado) teams played four games over the weekend, winning all four while scoring 31 times and conceding only 6 goals. The coaching staff remarked on the excellent progress shown in their 4 principles of play (Pressure, Positioning, Possession & Patterns), and singled out the tremendous overall performance from Barrett O’Neill. The State 48 FC 2011 (Verrado) team had a great result with a decisive 4-1 victory against a quality opponent. The team showed excellent passing and transitional play, and scored an incredible goal from half field on the kickoff.

The State 48 FC 2010 Black team had a strong performance as the coaches complimented their fine teamwork and ability to play out of the back under pressure, while Israel Barraza scored on a great free kick into the top corner of the net. The State 48 FC 2013 Black team continues to shine, posting a pair of hard earned wins (5-1 and 2-0) at the Whataburger Jamboree. The coaching staff reported that everyone on the team played very well – the attack, led by Enzo Villafana and Alexis Lugo, scored two goals apiece, while Gavin Comer, Vincent Calderon and Khristopher Aragon each scored one (with Khistopher’s goal being an impressive ‘Gol Olympico’). The fine defensive effort was led by Liliana Rivera, Vincent and Kristopher with goalkeeper Sebastian Gonzalez excellent in the net. The midfield group also turned in exceptional performances, led by Adrian Guzman, Stanley Dovico, Noah Anaya and Gavin. The State 48 FC 2008 Boys Black team concluded their league season on a high note with a hard fought 1-0 victory. The outstanding defense was led by Julian Perez and Isaiah Girley, who scored the game winning goal while the standout performances in the attack came from Ryan Beck and Jaxon Walker. The State 48 FC Boys Black (North) team had a tremendous weekend as they made it to the championship game in the RSL Showcase. The team allowed only 2 shots on goal the entire weekend, and were led by the outstanding defensive performances of Jace Barlow, Ethan Crabtree, Sergio Arpino, Trey Gonzalez, Dominic Bartinelli and goalkeeper Austin Scriven. The midfield was dominant, led by Trevor Scriven (2 assists), Aaron Apodaca, Diego Armetta, Parker Glad and Kaiden Zic. The attack was led by strikers Luke Williams and Nanda Ankem, who had a goal each while Junior de la Rosa, Adithya Asokan and Gavin Volckmann also scored fine goals. Congratulations to all our S48 FC teams for their exceptional efforts this weekend!
