State 48 FC Weekly Update 10/7

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC 2013 team opened our UPSL Academy League debut with an extraordinary performance! From the start of the game, our team had great intensity, amazing teamwork and were locked in. The result was a dominating 11–1 victory, with goals from seven different players, which shows the depth and firepower of the team. Ricardo Lemus started the scoring and was joined by Jacob Sahagun, Daniel Gonzalez, Hector Romero, Hector Garcia, Mateo Cisneros and William Zaragoza on the scoresheet. Our midfield control was impeccable, led by Hector Garcia, Khristopher Aragon, Abraham Loera and Gavin Hansen. Defensively, we were excellent because of the great play by Ismael Alcala, Daniel Holmeda, Liliana Rivera and Kovin Munoz. It was truly an extraordinary win, led by unselfish teamwork, fantastic execution and non-stop hustle.”

Coach Juan Pablo Arviso reported “Our State 48 FC 2012 Girls (Avondale) team played their third game of the season and came away with a spectacular 6-2 victory. The girls played extremely hard and fought for every ball. The team has shown tremendous growth – I am very proud of these girls! Let’s go State 48!”

Coach Alessio Altomare said “The State 48 FC 2015 Elite (Verrado) team had a great APL league weekend, recording two tremendous victories. Excellent performance by the team, with captain Kamron Lang leading with authority in the midfield. Luis Diaz controlled the central defense with superb composure while defender Sergio ‘Chuky’ Villa’s impressive ability in transition from defense to attack was outstanding. Every player contributed at a high level – a true team effort! Coach is happy!”

The State 48 FC 2011 Boys Black (Avondale) team opened league play against a strong opponent that was in first place coming into the match. Coach Javier Frausto said “The boys were chomping at the bit for this one. After a tight 0-0 scoreline at the half, we made some adjustments and were able to secure an excellent 2-0 victory. Our goals were scored by Uriel Medina and Andres Rodriguez (who buried a beautiful free kick from 20 yards out). Our defensive group of Acxel Romero, Parker Consalvo, Fernando Escobar and Benji Myrhe were all outstanding in recording the shutout win.”

Coach Brian Craig said “The State 48 FC 2013 / 2014 Girls (Verrado) team had a great battle against the State 48 FC 2013 / 2014 Girls (Avondale) team in league play and emerged with a victory. The parents and spectators were treated to a clean, competitive match with great attacking build ups and fine defensive interventions on both sides.”

Both State 48 Sporting FC semi-professional teams were in action this past weekend. The State 48 FC Sporting I Premier team won 2-0 in impressive fashion, with striker Alex Tejera scoring both goals. The State 48 Sporting FC II team, ranked #2 in the league, played against the first place team this past weekend in a much anticipated match. The exciting contest ended in a 1-1 draw, with center back Matt Marek scoring on a header from a great free kick delivery from Jesus Arellano.

Congratulations to all our State 48 FC players and coaches – we are very proud of you!
