The State 48 FC 2010 Boys (El Mirage) team El Mirage boys (first year as a team) had an incredible run at the Ostrich Festival, winning the tournament Championship. Coach Sean Venesky said “The team showed amazing resilience and teamwork, allowing only 1 goal all weekend. We won the 1st match by the score of 1-0 thanks to a goal by Jason Golley, assisted by his younger brother Mason Golley. In the 2nd match, Juan Maans’ free kick set up Sebastian Cano for the opener, followed by another long-range goal from the dangerous Cano and a final strike from Abel Thomas off a Bryan Hernandez assist as we secured a 3-0 win. Bracket play ended with six goals from five players, with goalkeeper Nolan Steele keeping three clean sheets. In the championship match, Jason Golley put us ahead, and, after an equalizer by the opponent, Sean (SJ) Venesky Jr. netted the game-winner! What a performance by this team!”
Coach Hector Garcia said “The State 48 FC 2013 Boys Copper team competed in our first 11v11 tournament, playing a year up.
