State 48 FC Weekly Update – 9/25

The State 48 FC 2007 Boys Black team began their Advanced League campaign with a win and a draw, and currently sit atop the standings in 1st Place. The prolific Emmanuel Perez scored 4 goals in two games, while Elias Curiel was excellent in his control of the midfield. The strong central defensive pairing of Aiden Eppley and Landon Linkey were outstanding on the backline as well.

The State 48 FC 2008 Boys Black (North) team also opened their Advanced League season with two emphatic victories this weekend, winning 7-1 and 3-0, respectively. Goal scorers included Aaden Encinas (3 goals), Riggs Beck (3 goals), Diego Armetta (2 goals), Trevor Scriven (1 goal) and Tavin Tominson (1 goal). The tremendous defensive effort was led by Jace Barlow, Moses Baca and Dominic Bartinelli, while Gavin Volckmann, Billy Denman, Julian Perez, Justin Lee, Austin Scriven and GK Joseph Murillo also turned in strong performances.

Coach Celia Rascon reports that the State 48 FC 2012 / 2013 Girls Black team won their match 7-1 in dominating fashion. Payton Briese scored a hat trick of 3 goals, while Yulitza Munoz, Elsie Rascon & Cienna Alvarez also scored some amazing goals. Coach Celia said β€œAll of the girls played a great game but Lexie Gomez and Mia Alvarez kicked it into another gear to help control the midfield and defensive areas the entire game!”

The State 48 FC 2013/2014 Boys Black (Verrado) team won their league match 5-4 in exciting fashion, tying the game with five minutes remaining and scoring the game winning goal in the final minute of the contest. Coach Cisco Flores highlighted the excellent performances of Jacob Sahagun (2 goals) and midfielder Jael Farfan for their fine efforts.

The State 48 FC 2017 White Cyclones team had two excellent league victories, winning both matches in decisive fashion by the score of 16-3 and 6-0. Coach Rogelio Aragon said β€œI am extremely proud of the teamwork & tenacity displayed by our team. Gyzer Aragon was a non-stop offensive & defensive powerhouse, while Jhovanny Soledad played with great energy and composure. Diego Nava made his offensive presence felt with some amazing goals, as did Adan Molina. Moy Perez and Mateo Villafana played with great industry & endeavor, while goalkeeper Cristian Calderon was outstanding with numerous great saves. Our newest addition AJ Cordova got his first goal as well!”

The State 48 FC 2008 Girls Black team had a tough league game against Yavapai this past Saturday. Coach Ray Gonzalez said β€œThe midfield of Lilah Alonso, Adriana Bojorquez Torres and Jasmine Bilavanh had outstanding performances. Our player of the match was Jasmine, who, in addition to playing very well in the defensive end, made a number of excellent passes to help start attacks. The girls played a great game – they continue to improve from one game to the next!”
