PHOENIX (Tuesday, September 27, 2022) 

The State 48 FC ’08 Boys Black team, coached by Matt Marek, won their first APL match over the weekend by the score of 3-2. Ryan Beck scored the opening goal on a pinpoint, driven cross from Luis Ojeda. Nathan Faulconer scored the next two goals for State 48 FC, calmly converting two well taken penalty kicks. A strong effort was turned in by the defense, with Moses Baca, Julian Perez, Isaiah Girley and Xander Wiedrich leading the way with their outstanding play. Jacob VanBuskirk also turned in a fine performance as his contributions in different positions all over the field were a big part of the team’s excellent win.
