Captains Hollis Humphrey and Gabriel Roman led their team with their outstanding play.”

Coach Moises Perez reported “The State 48 FC 2015 Copper (Avondale) team played our first league game. We turned in a dominating performance in a 4-0 victory – everyone worked hard! AJ Navas scored an impressive hat trick of goals, while Kevin Solis scored with an amazing rocket strike. Goalkeeper Rigo Garcia blocked a penalty kick at a decisive moment in the game as well. Shoutouts to Rafael Tovar, Izaac Lopez, and Santiago Chavez for their strong performances.”
Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC 2017 Boys White (Avondale) team had an outstanding performance against some great teams in the Tuzos Tournament. We made it to the Championship match, where it came down to the wire – we came up just short, losing in a penalty kick shootout. It was impressive to see the growth our team has made in such a short period of time. Gyzer Aragon had a stellar performance with 6 goals and controlled the midfield. Johan Gallardo & Ezra Sanchez were exceptional in defense and gave us great energy. Kai Gonzalez & Jhovanny Soledad did a great job commanding the wings. Jovani Moreno, Nathan Palafox-Nagy & Aaron Villagomez also played very well. Our goalkeeper Moy Perez anchored the defense with key saves during crucial parts of games and showed a great deal of confidence. We are extremely proud of our team and will keep working hard!”
The State 48 FC 2016 White (Avondale) team started their Arizona Academy League campaign with an emphatic 5-0 victory. Coach Rudy Urquiza said “The team showed great energy, intelligence and tenacity. This included some of our new additions: Dominic Allen Howard, who was a beast, winning first balls, making great recoveries, and sending excellent passes forward, and Cuyrie Hall McDaniel, knowing where to be and never giving up on the ball. They proved to me that they have what it takes to be on a competitive team – and I love it!”
Coach Celia Rascon said “The State 48 FC 2013/2014 Girls Black (Avondale) team had an exciting start to the season. Our girls played their first league game and gave it everything they had, falling just short with a 4-3 loss – but we couldn’t be prouder! They showed incredible aggression, fought hard to be first to the ball – and their communication and passing are really coming together. We’re so excited to see how these girls continue to grow, learn and dominate as the season goes on. Let’s go girls!”
Coach Joshua Madrigal said “This past weekend was incredible for the State 48 FC 2019 Black (Buckeye) team. It was our very first tournament of the season, and the kids showed just how much progress they have made since we first started. Every single player has been developing and it really showed on the field. From the effort, teamwork, and determination they displayed to the growth in their skills and confidence, it’s clear that the hard work at practices is paying off. It’s exciting to see how far they’ve come in such a short time, and even more exciting to know this is just the beginning. Proud of every one of them for giving their all and making this first tournament such a success!”
The State 48 FC 2015 Boys (Buckeye) team played their first tournament as a newly formed team. Coach Jake Bolanos said “The group was outstanding, performing above expectations against some good teams. The fundamentals being practiced are showing up on the field and the kids are very composed on the ball under pressure. Notable performances from Rayan Boare (7 goals & 1 assist); JJ Gutierrez (1 goal and 4 assists); Sebastian Luna with multiple big saves backing up the goalkeeper and Ethan Rodriguez taking a leadership role while commanding the defense. Every player gave their all on a very hot weekend of soccer in Arizona. Overall I am very happy with the growth of the team, and excited to see them perform all year.”
Congratulations to all our State 48 FC players and coaches – we are very proud of you!
