The State 48 FC 2018 Boys Black (Verrado) team won the Desert Super Cup Tournament Championship! Coach Oscar Macias said “We played in the Gold Bracket against strong competition – no words to describe this feeling of winning the championship. The boys turned the engine on and put on a show for their parents, supporters and most importantly themselves. Key contributions from Thiago Navarette, Oliver Flume and Gyzer Aragon. Amazing performance!”
Coach Sean Venesky said “The State 48 FC 2010 Boys Black (El Mirage) team rolled into the Desert Super Cup Tournament ready to work. We opened with a 2–1 win over a tough New Mexico side, with goals from RJ Wells and Dominic Hamilton – huge shoutout to RJ for his first goal of the season! Facing a must win game in our third match, the team dominated. Abel Thomas slipped a perfect through ball to Dominic Hamilton for the finish, and, after a late penalty call against us, outstanding Goalkeeper Nolan Steele came up with a massive save to send us to the Championship. The final pitted us against a strong team that was filled with ECNL badges – the match was intense the entire time and it went to penalty kicks. Our boys stayed ice-cold: Sebastian Cano Jr, Diego Rodriguez, Dominic Hamilton and Juan Maans all buried their penalties, while Goalkeeper Nolan Steele saved two shots as we won the Tournament Championship! Daniel Acevez and Brandon Casillas were excellent, locking down the back line all weekend. The boys fought through injuries, played with heart and showed who they really are. Nolan Steele was our Tournament MVP. Proud is an understatement – I can’t wait to watch them shine during the high school season!”
Coach Ivan Moreno said “The State 48 FC 2016 Black (Avondale) team are the Desert Super Cup Champions! We went undefeated and allowed only 2 goals all weekend. This squad played with so much passion and determination – the coaching staff could not be more grateful for the opportunity to guide this team! Proud of everyone!”
Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC 2013 Black (Avondale) team had an outstanding 7v7 Premier Soccer League Thanksgiving Tournament against some solid competition. We won all our games (6-4, 7-4 & 4-1) to become tournament Champions! The team was challenged by playing small goal soccer – but stepped up and played really well overall with excellent passing and teamwork. Great goals were scored by Ricardo Lemus, Hector Roman, Alex Trejo and Max Lara. Dominating defensive work from Dani Holmedo, Ray Gonzalez, Liliana Rivera and Kovin Munoz, with outstanding goalkeeping by Khristopher Aragon, who had some great saves in key moments of the games. Magnificent job from the entire group!”
Coach Alessio Altomare said “The State 48 FC 2015 Elite team were finalists in the Desert Super Cup Tournament. We played very well throughout the tournament. Joshua Madrigal’s performance across all four games was tremendous – he inspired all of us with beautiful plays and great vision. Coach is proud!”

Great midfield control by Oliver Flume and Yael Zarco. Fantastic defensive presence from Johan Gallardo, Kai Gonzalez and outstanding goalkeeper Moy Perez. A truly great performance!”
