Coach Irwin Moreno said “The State 48 FC 2017 Black (Avondale) team played in Tucson this past weekend, bringing home the Fort Lowell Shootout Tournament Championship! After tough, competitive group play, we found ourselves in the championship, against an El Paso (TX) Select select team that we had lost to 4-1 in group play – we were ready for revenge! Every single player stepped up in a major way and delivered a convincing 5-0 victory in the championship game! Our goalkeeper Ivan Aragon stepped up when we needed him most, Our defense smothered the opposition and did not let them get comfortable, while our attack recorded 18 goals in 4 games played! Overall, it was an outstanding group effort!”
Coach Oscar Macias said “The State 48 FC 2018 Black (Verrado) team won the Rated Cup Tournament Championship! I have no words to describe their dominant performance. The boys are using their dribbling skills effectively and passing the ball well in creating triangles to break down their opponents. We outscored teams by an average of 8-2; what a great weekend!”

The team opened the tournament with a convincing 7-1 win, and followed it up in the next match with another strong performance, winning 7-0. The team earned a well-deserved spot in the championship game, which turned out to be a hard fought battle defined by intense pressure. The team relied on their bond as a family, providing constant support for one another across the field. Their collective resolve ensured that failure was not an option – we stood strong to claim the championship, proving that dedicated hard work leads to ultimate success. The team is extremely grateful for the opportunity to represent State 48 FC!”

Very proud of the girls, who are working hard and continuing to show growth!”

We managed to go up 2-0 in first 20 minutes while dominating dominating play, but the opposition were tough and tied the match at 2-2 in the second half. Although the momentum had shifted, midfielder Jael Farfan scored the game winning goal towards the end of the game! The boys were able to dig deep to find the victory – with this win we are now 7-0 in our last 7 games and 10-1 in our last 11 games. Vamos State 48 FC!”
Coach Hector Garcia said “The State 48 FC 2013 Boys Copper (Avondale) team competed in the Rated Cup Tournament this weekend and finished as Finalists in the Gold Bracket. The boys were undefeated with three clean sheets through three games before coming up just short in an intense championship match. What makes this group special is that more than half of this team is made up of players in their first year of competitive club soccer – and they are already competing at the Gold level! I believe that this is what State 48 FC stand for – development, belief and pushing players to the next level. Proud of the boys and the fight they showed. Our Tournament MVPs were: team captain Ismael Alcala and Jonathan Frias for absolutely locking down the defense all weekend. Our goalkeeper Nathan Torres was with an outstanding performance between the posts as well!”
Coach Rogelio Aragon reported “The State 48 FC 2013 Black (Avondale) team had an outstanding Rated Cup Tournament playing in the Gold Bracket against some very high caliber teams. We were one tie away from making it to the Championship (2 wins, 1 defeat) and we are proud of that!”

The team keeps getting better and better with each tournament. All the kids are elevating their game – 20 goals scored and only 5 against. The coaching staff is super proud of how far they have come!”
