The S48FC ’08 Boys Black (North) team won the Rush Tournament Championship this weekend, overcoming three high quality teams in the process to hoist the trophy. A complete team performance, where everyone on the squad made significant contributions, enabled the ’08 team to win the championship. A tremendous defensive effort resulted in two shutouts in three matches, while tournament MVP Aaron Apodaca scored 2 excellent goals, including the match winner in Sunday’s final. Standout performances were also turned in by Trevor Scriven, Moses Baca, Ethan Crabtree and Trey Gonzalez. The S48FC ’13 team won a difficult match against Synergy by the score line of 3-2 in a back and forth game. The coaches indicated that the team showed poise and maturity when faced with adversity in this epic contest. Enzo Villafana had 2 goals and Alexis Lugo scored the match winner in the hard earned victory. This makes it an impressive 4 wins consecutive for the team – congratulations to all of our S48FC teams for their efforts this weekend!
