The State 48 FC 2013 Boys White team had an amazing weekend, winning the Copper State Tournament championship in style in addition to playing up a year in the Gold bracket of the 2012 age group – an outstanding performance from Coach Eddie Vasquez and his excellent team!
The State 48 FC 2014 Boys Black team competed in the first round of the Arizona Junior’s Champions Cup this past weekend, winning two matches by 4-0 score lines and drawing one match 2-2. Coach Alex Aguilar said “Great teamwork from the entire group – constructive communication and working together to move the ball around and finish many of our opportunities.” Fantastic job, boys!
The State 48 FC 2015 – 2016 Boys Black (Verrado) team also participated in the first round of the Arizona Junior Champions Cup, playing very well in recording a win and a loss. Coach Alessio Altomare said “What I want to highlight here is the ability of this team to get up again together and show that we can learn from a loss and come back stronger. We had a final game with the leading ranked team and, after a tough battle, we came up with a fantastic 3-2 win! All of our players stepped up – our captain Luis Diaz (a real competitor on the field) and goalkeeper James Kenney led the group with their inspired play.”
Coach Saul Bolanos said that the State 48 FC 2015 – 2016 White (Verrado) team “did an amazing job – I can see the progression from these kids every day. Our defense was excellent – they performed at a high level all weekend. Bennett Crawford, Jionni Loza and Lucas Adam contributed some amazing goals as well.”
The State 48 FC 007 Boys Black team played in the Vegas Cup in Las Vegas, Nevada and were impressive Finalists, finishing as runner’s up in the championship. Coach Matt Marek said “Despite playing in very windy, difficult conditions, the team out possessed every team we played. Great overall performances from Ferdi Aoci, Elias Curiel, and Josh Jones.” Excellent results, boys, very well done!
The State 48 FC 2008 Boys Black team also played in the Vegas Cup and turned in an impressive series of performances, going 1-1-1 against very tough competition. Playing in the same windy and rainy conditions as the State 48 FC 2007 team, Coach Matt Marek said he was proud of the team’s effort, consistently playing with more possession and competing in every match, with top class showings from Ryan Beck, Jaxon Walker, and Carlos Arenas Jr. – as always, congratulations to all of our State 48 FC teams and coaches for their fine efforts!
