Coach David Herrera said “The State 48 FC Verrado 2019 /2020 Black team played this weekend – this was a good opportunity for us to work on our game. We started off playing too slowly and went into halftime tied at 2-2. We made some adjustments, which included more purposeful passing, maintaining possession and showing more intensity when defending. The team came out of the break and executed with intention as we won the match by the score of 9-3. Notable performances from Goliath Herrera (3 goals & 3 assists); Isaiah Tejada (3 goals); Sebastian Gonzalez (2 goals); Christoper Delgado (1 goal) and Nathanael Bobadilla (2 assists). Every player contributed to the brand of football we play – I am so proud of this group!”
Coach Frank Alongi said “The State 48 FC 2018 / 2019 Verrado Girls Black team opened the winter season in the Arizona Academy League with a decisive win. The girls put their training on display by connecting passes, finding open space and sticking to their defensive principles. All of our girls scored goals in the 11-0 shutout victory. The girls have not conceded a goal in three consecutive matches!”
