The State 48 FC 2013 Boys White team had a great weekend as they won the Yavapai Tournament Championship in Prescott, AZ. The team played in the 2012 ‘Silver’ bracket (an age group one year above their own), and Coach Eddie Vasquez said that the entire team played brilliantly in winning the tournament. Well done boys for an outstanding performance!
The State 48 FC 2014 Black team participated in the Arizona JR Champions Cup, where they went undefeated until the final match. Coach Alex Aguilar said “we implemented what we have been practicing all season. A great performance from the entire team!”
The State 48 FC 2015 / 2016 Boys Black (Verrado) team also participated in the Arizona JR Champions Cup, winning four games while losing only one. Coach Alessio Altomare said “The team played really well. This month the team focused on ‘intensity’ in training and we saw that reflected in the game with faster ball movement as well as quicker ball recovery with high pressure. Special mention goes to Connor Candelario, who showed tremendous application on the field of what was coached during the training sessions!”
The State 48 FC 2015 Girls (Verrado) team had a notable performance at the Southwest Cup, where they reached the semi-finals. Coach Ivan Moreno said “The entire team is clicking and playing well. I would like to give a shoutout to Mabel Owen, Spencer Wimmer, Mia Moreno and Audrey Sando for playing at a very high level – I am really proud of all the girls on the team!”
The State 48 FC 2013 Black had a very impressive performance in the Brazas Tournament, finishing as Finalists against strong competition. Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The team showed outstanding play with their creativity, cohesion, toughness and offensive firepower. They gave it everything they had, playing 4 games in less than 36 hours in earning their hard fought 2nd place finish. It was an excellent display that helped the team once again prove that they can compete against anyone. Enzo Villafana scored 4 goals, Khristopher Aragon scored 3 goals & Alex Trejo scored 1 goal. A great defensive performance by Liliana Rivera, Vincent Calderon, Sebastian Gutierrez, Angel Barajas & Gustavo De La Torre, with extraordinary goalkeeping from Carlos Medina. Superb midfield control and play making by Adrian Guzman, Gavin Comer, Joseph Vicario & Alexis Lugo. I am extremely proud of the growth on and off the field by this excellent team!”
In the area of academic achievement, State 48 FC 2012 / 2103 Girls Black team member Kaycee Rodriguez won the ‘Student of the Month’ award at her school! Amazing accomplishment Kaycee!
