State 48 FC Weekly Update – 11/4

The State 48 FC 2015 / 2016 Boys Black (Verrado) team are Rush Cup Tournament Champions, winning the U10 Silver bracket. Coach Alessio Altomare remarked β€œI am very proud of the beautiful soccer they played – every player stepped up to win this together, playing with a high level of quality and never giving up on our game plan. These outstanding performers are Wyatt Bridge, Luis Diaz, Adrian Levya, Enzo Altomare, Joshua Madrigal, Jose Flores, Kade Brannon – and special mention for Connor Candelario, who scored the winning goal in the 1-0 championship match!”

Coach Liz Perez said β€œThe State 48 FC 2010 Girls Black team performed at a high level this weekend at the Rush Cup Tournament, where they fought as hard as they could during every moment of the game – a truly outstanding effort from all of the girls. The team was led by captain Maya Martinez, Rachel Baca, Silvia Rocha, Erika Salazar, Ailynn Salazar, Analyss Rios and Ari Kitawaga. A special shout out for our exceptional goalkeeper Kamilah Calderon, who saved a penalty kick to preserve the lead in our final game.”

Coach Esgar Adame of the State 48 FC 2018 Black (North) team said β€œThe group continues to grow as a team, and to develop the key fundamentals. Our boys had the opportunity to face great competition at the Rush Cup Tournament this weekend with some amazing performances by Thiago Ocegueda and Marcos Ochoa on defense; Liam Espinoza, Damian Mendiola and Gunnar Loya in midfield, and Milo Valenzuela as a striker – very proud of this great team!”

The State 48 FC 2012 Boys Black (South) team improved to 5-0 in conference play with an emphatic 9-0 win. Coach Dante Johnson said β€œThe defensive effort was led by goalkeeper keeper Luis Frair (who also scored a goal from the penalty spot) and captain Alonso Barriga, who helped keep our third clean sheet in a row. Ayden Puente scored his second hat trick of the season as we maintained approximately 75% of the possession. This team is starting to reach new heights – I am extremely proud of the confidence and instincts they have developed.”

Coach Hector Roman of the State 48 FC 2016 Grey team reports that β€œThe boys played an excellent game, winning 8-0. The highlight of the match would be when our captain Jacob Kelly scored a wonderful free kick just outside the box.”

The State 48 FC 2013 Black team recorded two come from behind wins this weekend and remain undefeated in the league with an unblemished 6-0 record. Coach Rogelio Aragon remarked β€œOutstanding play by Joseph Vicario, who got us going in both games by scoring 2 important goals. Kudos as well to Alex Trejo and Khristopher Aragon for finding a way to secure the wins, as each player scored in the final minute of the tough games. These contests challenged our team & helped them build character – I am very proud of them for pulling through it all!”

The State 48 FC 2007 / 2008 Girls (Verrado) team won their match 3-0 in impressive fashion. Coach Francisco Martinez said β€œI am very proud of how hard the girls worked in securing the victory – tremendous effort from all of the players!”

The State 48 FC 2014 Black team won their match decisively by the scoreline of 8-2. Coach Alex Aguilar said β€œThe boys have been understanding that they need to work together, trust one another and be positive on the field. They are displaying great movement, passing and communication – great job overall!”

Coach Hector Garcia reports β€œThe State 48 FC 2013 Boys Copper team remain undefeated after an amazing 4-1 win this weekend. I want to highlight the tremendous efforts of right wing Hector Garcia and goalkeeper Nathan Torres, who were fantastic!”

Coach Rogelio Aragon reports β€œThe State 48 FC 2017 White team was outstanding! We recorded 3 emphatic victories this weekend by the scores of 11-1, 6-2 and 8-1. This team continues to be more & more impressive with their play and teamwork. All seven players scored and had great moments – these excellent players are Gyzer Aragon, Mateo Villafana, Diego Nava, Cristian Calderon, Jhovanny Soledad, Moy Perez, & AJ Cordova!! I am truly proud of our team for their tenacity, hustle, toughness, & hard work. Let’s keep working!”

The State 48 FC 2015 Copper team came from behind to tie their Academy League match 1-1 in regulation play, and then won the game on penalty kicks. Coach Moises Perez said β€œThe entire team was amazing, but the β€˜Player of the Match’ award goes to our goalkeeper Rigoberto Garcia, who saved an incredible four penalty kicks! I am very proud of this team!”

The State 48 FC 2011 Boys Black team had their first home game this Saturday and defended their field successfully with a 2-1 victory. Coach Javier Frausto said β€œJayden Rosales added to his season total with 2 nice goals, while the defense, led by Jacen Roman, stifled the opposing team the entire match. The boys have come a long way and continue to mesh as a team. The work, hustle and sportsmanship shown by this group is amazing!”

Coach Dante Johnson said β€œThe State 48 FC 2012 Boys White team improved their record to 2-1-1 with a 1-0 win this weekend. The defense was led by captains Jacob Velasco and Melvin Tan, and Sauder Flores scored the game’s only goal to secure the victory. I was very impressed with the team’s awareness and ability to possess the ball – I am extremely proud of the overall team effort and willingness to battle!”
