State 48 FC Weekly Update 9/25

The State 48 Sporting FC II team were victorious by a score of 3-1 on Saturday. Center back and team captain Matt Marek said “This was the toughest competition we have faced all season – we performed quite well. Our chemistry is beginning to pay dividends and we will look to continue our winning streak this weekend!”

The State 48 FC 2013 Boys Copper (Avondale) team is off to a great start this season. Coach Hector Garcia said “We played our first league match and won convincingly by the score of 6-0, with double hat tricks from both of our strikers, Daniel Gonzales and Mateo Cisneros. Amazing performances from our center back Ismael Alcala and goalkeeper Nathan Torres to keep a clean sheet. Excellent job by the entire team!”

Coach Donovan Graydon said “The State 48 FC 2015 / 2016 Black (Laveen) team made history this past weekend with a resounding 5-0 win. Goals were scored by Angel De La Rosa, Hollis Humphrey, Elijah Dominguez, and Jesus Ojer. Great performances by team captain Alonzo Duarte, Nia Bedolla and Adrian Botello, while goalkeepers Nathaniel Castro and Alonzo Zamora posted a clean sheet. Overall, a great performance by the team – I could not be more impressed!”

Coach Alessio Altomare said “The State 48 FC 2015 Boys Elite team played their very first two APL games this weekend. We tied the first game 3-3 and won the second match 5-2 after a good battle with a strong comeback in the second half. Luis Diaz dominated in the back, leading with courage, presence and smart decisions; Kamron Lang showed all his soccer IQ in the midfield but the MVP award goes to Juan Chavez, a true leader playing multiple roles with enthusiasm and talent. Juan scored a penalty, a free kick and contributed with other beautiful plays. Besides those excellent personal performances, the entire team showed progress and unity – Coach is happy!”

The State 48 FC 2011 Boys White (Avondale) team turned in a dominant performance with a 12-0 win in league play. Coach Javier Frausto said “We were led by Chris Tinnel who scored 4 goals. The team has improved steadily as the boys have taken the lessons learned from previous matches and come back stronger. Great job Coach Luciano and JR!”

Coach Brian Craig Verrado said “The State 48 FC 2013 / 2014 Girls (Verrado) team took their talents on the road playing this past weekend. Our team has admirably transformed their style of play to accentuate their stout defensive play and use it to build attacks with possession and crisp passing. We got off to a quick 3-0 lead with beautiful, unselfish team play. The girls added a 4th goal in the second half, focusing on building with width and well-timed passes, finishing the game with an emphatic 4-1 win. Our wingbacks Tatum Briese and Vivian Tolliver were the stars of the game simultaneously stopping the opposing attacks and setting up our scoring opportunities – an excellent performance from the team.”

Coach Moises Perez reported “The State 48 FC 2015 Copper (Avondale) team played its second league game. We started off the game by conceding an early goal, but the team fought hard and was able to secure a 3-2 win! It was a difficult game, but Marcos Sanchez, AJ Nava, and Kevin Solis all scored great goals. Our goalkeeper Rigo Garcia was once again one of our MVP’s, blocking a penalty kick close to the end of the game as we secured the victory.”

The State 48 FC 2013 / 2014 Girls (Avondale) team competed in their second league game of the season and emerged with an impressive 5-2 victory. Coach Celia Rascon said “The girls got off to a slow start but began to feel more confident we connected well with our passing game. Our leading scorer Valentina Aceves scored 3 goals, while Adela Hernandez contributed with 2 goals, one of them being a great shot from a free kick, placing the ball in the top right corner of the goal. Our defense is doing a great job building out of the back and moving the ball forward. Their hard work is starting to pay off – we can’t wait to see them compete this weekend in the Derby Tournament.”

Coach Jake Bolanos said “The State 48 FC 2015 (Buckeye) team had a great showing again this weekend, winning by the score of 4-1. The coaching staff are very happy with the work the players are putting in during practice, and the results are reflective of their effort. 2 goals from Rayan Boare, 1 goal from Eli Moreno and 1 goal on his team debut by Mateo Morales. Notable performances were also turned in by defenders Jaxon King, Ethan Rodriguez and Sebastian Luna.”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC 2013 Black (Avondale) team played its second league game and emerged with a 3-3 draw. We played a great game, but costly mistakes kept us from taking the win. Ricardo Lemus was dominating, scoring 3 goals when we needed them. Tremendous midfield performances by Khristopher Aragon, Adrian Guzman, William Zaragoza & Alexis Lugo, who were outstanding in controlling the game.”

The State 48 FC 2017 Boys (Buckeye) team recorded an impressive 6-2 victory over the weekend. Coach Jake Bolanos said “What an outstanding performance – Mason Larson scored 3 goals, Firdaos Boare scored 2 goals and Daniel Bastidos scored 1 goal. Ethan Atkerson, Xavier Roque and Austin Crowther were excellent as well. Great teamwork from the group!”
