State 48 FC Weekly Update – Week 1

Coach Javier Frausto said “The State 48 FC 2011 Boys Black (Avondale) team ended the league season with a match to decide 1st place in our division. After being down at the half, we adjusted and roared back to win 2-1 to put a ribbon on an amazing season. Goals were scored by Gabriel Salazar and Meziah Arrellano, with assists by Scott Nguyen and Jayden Rosales. Our strong defense held it down as usual, led by Jacen Roman, Acxel Romero, Parker Consalvo, Benji Myrhe and Meziah Arrellano. This tremendous collective effort resulted in an impressive 1st Place Championship finish in our division – an undefeated campaign, recording the most goals scored, the least goals allowed and the best goal differential. I am very proud of this outstanding group!”

Coach Rogelio Aragon “The State 48 FC 2013 Black (Avondale) team played a league game over the weekend, taking a commanding 5-1 win. The unselfish passing and team chemistry was truly impressive – everyone played for one another and it was great to see. Our goals were scored by Ricardo Lemus (2), while William Zaragoza, Hector Roman and Alex Trejo scored 1 goal each. The midfield was controlled superbly by Khristopher Aragon, Adrian Guzman, Tony Gil, Alexis Lugo, Kaze Mazzuca and Angel Marquez. Outstanding defensive presence by Dani Holmedo, Max Lara, Liliana Rivera, Kovin Munoz and goalkeeper Carlos Medina.”

The State 48 FC 2017 White (Avondale) team had recorded two impressive wins in the Futbolito Bimbo Soccer League on Saturday, by the scores of 7-0 and 11-1, respectively. Coach Rogelio Aragon said “Their vision, scanning and passing has improved immensely and is wonderful to see. We had a very balanced attack, with 7 different players scoring, to include Gyzer Aragon (8 goals); Ezra Sanchez (3 goals); Kai Gonzalez (3 goals) while Aaron Villagomez, Kylian Benitez, Nathan Palafox-Nagy and Jhovanny Soledad each scored 1 goal apiece. Excellent defensive presence from Johan Gallardo and Jovani Moreno, with outstanding goalkeeping by Moy Perez. A great overall performance!”

Our State 48 Sporting FC semi-professional Premier and D1 teams will both play in the finals of the UPSL Championships after advancing in the semi-final rounds. The Premier team was victorious in a thrilling, brutal contest that went to overtime against a powerful Olympians squad. The match was decided in the final minutes of the 2nd overtime period with a spectacular match winning goal by midfielder Samil Saidi, who was the star of the game with 3 brilliant goals. The entire team competed with desire and total commitment in the unforgettable match.

Congratulations to all our State 48 FC players and coaches – we are very proud of you!
