Coach Sean Venesky said “The State 48 FC 2010 Boys Black (El Mirage) team stepped into the top bracket of the Rivalries Cup Tournament and made a statement. We opened with a gritty 1-1 draw, striking first with a goal from Santiago Gonzalez (from a Bayron Duarte assist). The second match was all heart; we were down early in the game, but the boys refused to fold. Brandon Casillas delivered the equalizer to make it 1-1, Bayron Duarte buried a clutch PK, and Dominic Hamilton stepped up with the game winner to seal a 3-2 thriller. Next up – the Championship game! The pressure was on – and we didn’t blink. Bayron Duarte delivered the moment with the game-winning goal, while the squad locked in defensively – whistle to whistle – and the keeper came up HUGE with clutch saves to shut it down. We are Rivalries Cup Tournament Champions!”
Coach Alessio Altomare said “The State 48 FC 2015 Elite team had a fantastic start to our very first Presidents Cup U11 Gold campaign! In Game 1, we were down 0–1 at halftime but came out in the second half with a new attitude and earned a hard fought 2–1 win. It was an impressive performance from everyone. The next day, we showed up ready to compete and have fun, securing another solid result with a 3–1 victory. We’re currently sitting on top of the bracket, but we know the journey is just beginning – and we’re ready for what’s next!”
Coach Moises Perez said “The State 48 FC 2015 Boys Copper (Avondale) team had a great start in the Presidents Cup. We won our first match 3-1, having many good moments and showing great chemistry throughout the match. We followed up with a strong performance in our second match, winning a close game 2-1. We are currently 1st in our group – but there is a lot to work still to do. Standout performances from Jesus Ojer and Jayden Juarez in these matches – but the entire team deserves recognition for their excellent contributions.”
Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 2013 Black (Avondale) team played our final League game and stayed undefeated for the second consecutive season, tying for 1st place. We are extremely proud of every single player on the team, for stepping up when their name is called and being ready to compete. Their dedication and hard work is tremendous – let’s keep it going!”
Coach Javier Frausto said “The State 48 FC 2011 Boys Black (Avondale) team put on a clinic in grit and perseverance in their Presidents Cup match. We went behind 0-2 in the first half but, after a halftime conversation, which included plenty of player input, we roared back with a second wind that had the opponent on the back foot for the remainder of the match – we scored 2 goals in the second half to earn a well deserved 2-2 draw. Very proud of the boys and their effort!”
Coach Irwin Moreno said “Shoutout to Coach Oscar Macias for putting together an outstanding small sided / street soccer opportunity for many of our Academy age group players this past weekend. It was a great event full of talent, creativity, fun and, most importantly, player development! Great job Coach Oscar and everyone who showed up!”
Coach Hector Garcia said “The State 48 FC 2013 Boys Copper team participated in a bubble run with team members being joined by their parents – it was a fun weekend for everyone who participated!”
Congratulations to all our State 48 FC players and coaches – we are very proud of you! One Family, One Mission!
