Coach Anthony Sagahun said “The State 48 FC 2018 White (Avondale) Sharks ended their season on a high note, capturing the Championship in their bracket at the AZFC 7v7 Tournament. The impressive Gyzer Aragon scored an amazing 13 GOLAZOS throughout the course of the tournament. I want to thank the entire group for their year round commitment and hard work. Coach Hector Garcia said “The State 48 FC 2013 Boys Copper team continued their impressive run in the top bracket of the Presidents Cup with a dominant 3-0 victory over a strong opponent, securing their spot in the semifinals. The team showed composure, intensity, and quality. Match MVP Abraham Loera delivered a standout performance, finding the back of the net twice and having a huge impact in the win. Excellent performance from the entire team.”
The State 48 FC 2007 / 2008 Boys Black North team had a strong performance in the Arizona State Cup Championships this past weekend, recording a draw and a win. On Friday night, the team drew 1-1 in a very tense, exciting contest. On Sunday, the team played a fantastic match in an excellent 2-0 win. Winger Gavin Volckmann scored the game winning goal, with midfielder Danny Castillo adding the insurance tally. Goalkeeper Keanu Garcia recorded a shutout, while defenders Jace “The Sheik” Barlow, Tristan Costanzo, Dominic Bartinelli and Ethan Crabtree were all outstanding. The midfield of Moses Baca, Angel Pacheco and Danny Castillo controlled the match with their skillful play and tenacity, while attackers Gavin Volckmann, Alex Bess, Antonio Roque and Jacob Van Buskirk were a constant threat to the opposition goal. Tremendous weekend from the entire group of players!”
The State 48 FC 2013 Black (Avondale) team is now ranked in the Top 10 in Arizona, as well as the Region, by Got Sport. Coach Rogelio Aragon said “This is the biggest accomplishment yet by our extraordinary group! This team was built on dedication, hard work, integrity, respect and love for one another.
