Coach Sean Venesky said “The State 48 FC 2010 Boys Black (El Mirage) team stepped into the top bracket of the Rivalries Cup Tournament and made a statement. We opened with a gritty 1-1 draw, striking first with a goal from Santiago Gonzalez (from a Bayron Duarte assist). The second match was all heart; we were down early in the game, but the boys refused to fold. Brandon Casillas delivered the equalizer to make it 1-1, Bayron Duarte buried a clutch PK, and Dominic Hamilton stepped up with the game winner to seal a 3-2 thriller. Next up – the Championship game! The pressure was on – and we didn’t blink. Bayron Duarte delivered the moment with the game-winning goal, while the squad locked in defensively – whistle to whistle – and the keeper came up HUGE with clutch saves to shut it down. We are Rivalries Cup Tournament Champions!”

Coach Alessio Altomare said “The State 48 FC 2015 Elite team had a fantastic start to our very first Presidents Cup U11 Gold campaign! In Game 1, we were down 0–1 at halftime but came out in the second half with a new attitude and earned a hard fought 2–1 win. It was an impressive performance from everyone. The next day, we showed up ready to compete and have fun, securing another solid result with a 3–1 victory. We’re currently sitting on top of the bracket, but we know the journey is just beginning – and we’re ready for what’s next!”

Coach Moises Perez said “The State 48 FC 2015 Boys Copper (Avondale) team had a great start in the Presidents Cup. We won our first match 3-1, having many good moments and showing great chemistry throughout the match. We followed up with a strong performance in our second match, winning a close game 2-1. We are currently 1st in our group – but there is a lot to work still to do. Standout performances from Jesus Ojer and Jayden Juarez in these matches – but the entire team deserves recognition for their excellent contributions.”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 2013 Black (Avondale) team played our final League game and stayed undefeated for the second consecutive season, tying for 1st place. We are extremely proud of every single player on the team, for stepping up when their name is called and being ready to compete. Their dedication and hard work is tremendous – let’s keep it going!”

Coach Javier Frausto said “The State 48 FC 2011 Boys Black (Avondale) team put on a clinic in grit and perseverance in their Presidents Cup match. We went behind 0-2 in the first half but, after a halftime conversation, which included plenty of player input, we roared back with a second wind that had the opponent on the back foot for the remainder of the match – we scored 2 goals in the second half to earn a well deserved 2-2 draw. Very proud of the boys and their effort!”

Coach Irwin Moreno said “Shoutout to Coach Oscar Macias for putting together an outstanding small sided / street soccer opportunity for many of our Academy age group players this past weekend. It was a great event full of talent, creativity, fun and, most importantly, player development! Great job Coach Oscar and everyone who showed up!”

Coach Hector Garcia said “The State 48 FC 2013 Boys Copper team participated in a bubble run with team members being joined by their parents – it was a fun weekend for everyone who participated!”

Congratulations to all our State 48 FC players and coaches – we are very proud of you! One Family, One Mission!

Coach Alessio Altomare said “The State 48 FC 2015 Boys Elite team played the Gold Bracket of the Tuzos Challenge Tournament – and we won the Championship! Great performances from Sergio ‘Chuky’ Villa, who was outstanding in transition on the left side of the field as well as Emiliano Martinez, who showed his tactical and technical abilities across every game and scored important goals. A tremendous performance by the entire team as we won our 6th Tournament Championship of the year!”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC 2017 White (Avondale) team had a dominating performance in the Tuzos Challenge Tournament against some very tough, experienced teams as we won the Championship! We won our matches by the score of 7-1, 3-1 and 3-2 as we progressed to the final. In the championship match, it was a battle from start to finish in a very tight game. Our excellent team defense was the difference in winning the championship by the score of 3-1. This tournament showed us that we can compete against anyone in any conditions. I am extremely proud of our team for playing hard and never giving up!”

Coach Heber Valenzuela said “The State 48 FC 2018 (North) team played in the Gold bracket at the Brazas Ginga Champions Tournament this past weekend displaying teamwork, grit, and tenacity! Our boys came out on top of the bracket (alongside our brothers from the State 48 FC 2018 Avondale Cobras team) with convincing 5-3 and 8-3 victories. Special mentions go to Marcos David for his overall performance by being versatile in different positions, Madhi for his ability to contribute on defense and in the attack, Liam for his high energy recovering balls in the middle, Damien for his speed and ability to play on defense and in attack when needed, and Jesus for his collective work with his teammates. Kudos to our 2018 Boys program and our awesome coaches!”

Coach Armando Juarez said “The State 48 FC 2019 Boys Black (North) Scorpions team played in the Brazas Ginga Champions Tournament, winning both games by convincing scores to finish top of the bracket. We won the 1st game 7-3 and won the 2nd game 8-3. It was a truly dominant performance from our outstanding group – very proud of this team!”

Coach Irwin Moreno said “The State 48 FC 2017 Black (Avondale) team were crowned the Arizona Academy League Champions after another quality display of soccer. Every player competed at a high level and made a significant contribution – wonderful job by this team! Very proud of the commitment as well as the overall growth of these players.”

Coach Hector Garcia said “The State 48 FC 2013 Boys Copper (Avondale) team played in the Yavapai Cup Tournament this weekend in Prescott, AZ. The boys played extremely well all weekend, finishing as Finalists. Our MVP for the tournament was Abraham Loera, who was outstanding. I am very proud of the team and the strides they continue to make every week!”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC 2013 Black (Avondale) team played in the Tuzos Challenge Tournament against very strong competition. The highlight of the weekend was playing against the top rated team in the state and the region – we came out with intensity, focus, a chip on our shoulder – and we dominated from start to finish, playing with toughness and intensity – which led to our biggest win of the season and team history. We proved to ourselves and to everyone that we are the real thing! We are extremely proud of our team and their growth! We are thankful and grateful for this great group of players, who put it all on the line for each other time after time! This is a testament to trusting the process – now we are here!”

Coach Javier Frausto said “The State 48 FC 2011 Boys Black (Avondale) 2011B had an amazing experience this weekend. We played a league game and won comfortably by the score of 4-0. The team was instructed to build up, find off the ball space / angles, possess and pick their spots. They executed admirably and played very well! We then played in the Brazas Ginga Champions Tournament, where we faced two of the best teams in the state – although we did not win either match, we played very well and were right there in each game. This group of boys did not retreat, drop their heads or back off in the face of such a challenge. They relished the battle and in doing so confirmed what I’ve known – when met with adversity on any level they’re more than capable of putting it all together. Salute to these young men who are excited to keep improving and measuring themselves against anybody, anywhere! Great weekend for these players!”

Coach Rudy Urquiza said “The State 48 FC 2016 White team played two matches, drawing the first match 2-2 and winning the second match comfortably by the score of 9-2. I continue to be impressed with the high level of play exhibited by these fantastic young players!”

Congratulations to all our State 48 FC players and coaches – we are very proud of you! One Family, One Mission!

Coach Hector Garcia said “The State 48 FC 2013 Boys Copper (Avondale) team played in the Phoenix Cup Tournament this weekend. We were victorious in all three of our round robin matches, winning 1-0, 4-0 and 4-0 to lead the bracket. In the final, both teams went to war in a physical, back and forth match. Jacob Sahagun secured the 1-0 lead for the team followed by some impressive saves from keeper Nathan Torres, and a spectacular bicycle kick save on the line by Ismael Alcala to preserve the lead as we won the Championship! We finished the tournament undefeated and did not concede a goal as we won the title. Our tournament MVP’s were goalkeeper Nathan Torres and defender Ismael Alcala – a tremendous performance by the entire team!”

Coach Rudy Urquiza said “The State 48 FC 2016 White (Avondale) team participated in the Copper State Challenge Tournament. Our first game was against a solid opponent, and the match was highlighted by GK Omar “Campos” Cortez, who made some brilliant saves to keep a clean sheet and help the team to the victory. We lost our second game 2-3, which meant we had to win our next match to advance to the finals, which we did convincingly by the score of 8-3. The Championship proved to be a very close match against a strong opponent. We were the first ones to strike off a corner goal by Angel Medina, taking a 1-0 lead. We kept the opposition at bay for almost the entire match, but they scored off a free kick late in the game to even the match at 1-1. The champions were to be decided by a penalty shootout! These kids were so excited that they did not fear the moment and gladly volunteered. The first penalty was scored by Akai Lim. Their first shot was stopped by our goalkeeper, Omar “Campos” Cortez. Our second penalty was scored by Angel Medina. They scored their second penalty. Our third scorer was Nolan Alvarez. Their player ended up hitting the crossbar and out. It came down to our Captain, Adam Urquiza – if he made his kick we would be crowned champions. Adam did not let the pressure get to him – he wound up and calmly struck the ball into the bottom left corner for the win! We are the 2026 Copper State Challenge Tournament Champions! We are very proud of each player, as their resiliency, dedication and hard work was evident all season long. Amazing job by the group!”

Coach Cisco Torres said “The State 48 FC 2103 Boys Black (Verrado) team competed in the Copper State Tournament over the weekend and won the Championship! We won our first match 3-0 in the midday heat. In the second match we faced a very strong opponent – the hard fought game was even until the last five minutes, when striker Chase Hammer outran the defense and scored a goal to give us the victory. We won our third game 2-0, showing excellent ball possession and retention as we won the title, with goalkeeper Ricardo Ramirez keeping a clean sheet in every match. Our MVP’ s go to Carlitos Abarca and Chris Martinez, who were amazing in every match. I am so impressed with how much our players have continued to develop – another outstanding weekend for the team – coach is proud!”

Coach Armando Juarez said “The State 48 FC 2019 Black (North) Scorpions played in the Phoenix Cup this weekend, winning our 2nd consecutive tournament. The team played very well, winning the final in dominant fashion by the score of 8-3. The team is making tremendous strides with their communication, ball control, passing and finishing – excellent job team!”

The State 48 FC 2007 / 2008 Boys Black (North) team played in the Phoenix Cup this weekend against some outstanding competition and finished as Finalists. The team won their opening match 1-0 against New Mexico, dominating the match before finally getting the game winner with a brilliant strike from defender Dominic Bartinelli. The team continued to impress with a fine 2-0 win against a tough Canadian opponent in the withering heat with fine goals from Jacob van Buskirk and Danny Castillo. In the third match, the team faced another formidable foe – the effort and commitment were impressive to see as the team won again by the scoreline of 2-0, with goals from striker Alex Bess and Captain / winger Gavin Volckmann. Although the team came up short in the final, the overall play was tremendous. The defense was outstanding all weekend long with three straight shutout performances – led by Captain Jace Barlow, Moses Baca, Dominic Bartinelli, Ethan Crabtree and Tristan Costanza. The midfield of Captain Jonah Banucci, Angel Pacheco, Danny Castillo Riggs Beck, Elias Curiel and Alex Garcia controlled every game while attackers Alex Bess, Gavin Volckmann, Antonio Roque, Jacob van Buskirk and Justin Lee were constant threats to score.”

Coach Anthony Sagahun said “The State 48 FC 2018 White (Avondale) Sharks team capped off a highly successful season with a strong performance in the Gold Bracket of the Phoenix Cup Tournament this past weekend. The Sharks started the tournament with a hard fought 2-1 victory, followed by a dominant 8-0 win in the next match to secure a spot in the finals. The championship match was an intense battle between two high level teams, but we ended up losing the game 2-4. Despite the loss, the team remains focused on growth and learning from the experience. A standout performer this weekend was Adrian Ahumada, who played with exceptional heart and determination. His defensive skills and “grit” were instrumental in creating scoring opportunities for his teammates. Congratulations to the Sharks on a fantastic season!”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC 2017 Boys White (Avondale) team played in the Copper State Tournament and finished as Finalists, playing Silver Bracket against some great teams! They played outstanding soccer in the scorching heat and gave it all they had. The passing, energy and teamwork was extraordinary as we made it to the final match after securing two excellent wins (8-2 and 7-0) in bracket play. I am very proud of this group!”

Coach Brian Craig said “The State 48 FC 2013 / 2014 Girls Black (Verrado) team played in the TFC Spring Cup Tournament this past weekend, where we finished with 2 wins and 1 loss. This team defines perseverance – in our second match, we were behind 0-1 in the first minute of the game but battled throughout the match to pull off a 2-1 win, which turned out to be one of my favorite games to watch this season. These girls are connecting passes, implementing attacking and set piece tactics, while also playing excellent defense with coverage and communication. Great job ladies!”

Coach Carlos Bastidos said “The State 48 FC 2017 Boys Black (Verrado) team had a very good experience in the TFC Spring Cup Tournament. It was a scorching weekend, but the boys overcame this and played very well. We placed 2nd in the tournament with 2 wins and 1 loss. The boys have shown growth in their teamwork and technical skill. I’m truly proud of every one of our players – this will only get better as the team grows together.”

Coach Sean Venesky said “The State 48 FC 2010 Boys Black (El Mirage) team entered the Phoenix Cup Tournament facing a tough out-of-state schedule. A Northern California opponent brought high intensity, but our boys matched it with resilience and determination. Bayron Duarte found the back of the net off a well-delivered corner from Juan Maans to give us the lead. Unfortunately, a late goal from the opposition resulted in a 1–1 draw. In Game 2, the team focused on possession and controlling the tempo. Through strong movement and communication, the boys executed their game plan and came out on top against a good Colorado side, with Juan Maans scoring the decisive goal. Heading into Game 3, it was a must-win situation to advance to the championship. The boys battled hard but found themselves trailing 0–1. Refusing to give in, they showed tremendous fight and composure. A perfectly executed set piece from Juan Maans led to the equalizer, finished by Mark Infante. Despite finishing the tournament undefeated with a win and two draws, the team was unfortunately eliminated. Still, the growth, effort, and character displayed by the boys throughout the tournament was undeniable – and they continue to build toward even greater success.”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC 2013 Black (Avondale) team had a great run in the Copper State Tournament, playing against top ranked teams in Arizona. We played our hearts out against some tough competition and never backed down. The biggest highlight of the tournament was defeating the #6 ranked team in the state in a rugged 2-1 contest, which is our biggest win of the season. We are extremely proud of our team, because we demonstrated that we are here to stay and will compete against anyone!”

Congratulations to all our State 48 FC players and coaches – we are very proud of you! One Family, One Mission!

State 48 FC hosted a high-level player discovery tryout over the weekend, coordinated by Mitch Garcia, one of our Pro Performance Trainers. The purpose was to identify soccer players for the annual TST (‘The Soccer Tournament’) 7v7 Tournament that has become very popular not only because of the number of elite players who participate but also the $1 million dollars prize awarded to the winner of the tournament. We had an excellent turnout and the coaches were very impressed by the talent that was on display. Excellent job and kudos to Coach Mitch for running and organizing the event!

Phoenix was host to an MLS Next Tournament event over the weekend, and some State 48 FC players were asked to come and guest play for some high level teams who participated in the event. Gavin Volckmann & Jonah Banucci from the 2007 / 2008 Boys Black (North) team, Scott Nguyen, Acxel Romero & Jayden Rosales from the 2011 Boys Black (Avondale) team and Nolan Steele, Corbin Keena, Sebastian Cano, Juan Manns, Santiago Gonzalez & Daniel Aceves from the State 48 FC 2010 Boys Black (El Mirage) team were able to showcase their talents and represented State 48 FC in an outstanding manner. Great job boys – very well done!

Coach Armando Juarez said “The State 48 FC 2019 Black (North) Scorpions team played two league games on Friday and two friendly games at the CCV Jamboree on Saturday. We won all four games with dominant performances by the scores of 16-3, 13-1, 9-3 & 10-3, respectively. Every one of our players was exceptional – we had outstanding performances by Lucas Juarez (16 goals), Mario Villavicencio (11 goals), Milo Valenzuela (8 goals), Mason Delgadillo (5 goals), Calvin Grado and Camden Simpson (4 goals each). Our little ones are showing tremendous improvement and are displaying excellent attacking soccer – we are very proud of them!”

Coach Moises Perez said “The State 48 FC 2015 Copper (Avondale) team had their final league match, winning 2-0 in impressive fashion against a strong opponent. We defended well, were more accurate with our passing and played more aggressively. Maximus Aguero scored two excellent goals as we ended the league season in 2nd Place (by goal differential). I am very proud of our team for their outstanding efforts all season long!”

Congratulations to all our State 48 FC players and coaches – we are very proud of you! One Family, One Mission!

Coach Sean Venesky said “What a weekend for the boys! The State 48 FC 2010 Boys Black (El Mirage) team are the Ostrich Festival Tournament Champions, making it two tournament wins in a row after winning the Desert Super Cup and now going back-to-back at the Ostrich Festival! We recorded victories by the scores of 5-1, 2-0 and 3-1 on our way to the final. The championship game was exactly what a final should be – physical, intense and competitive. The boys stayed composed, trusted the system, and delivered a hard-fought 1–0 victory to secure the title. A huge shoutout to our newest player, Bayron Duarte, who made an immediate impact with 4 goals during the tournament. We also have to recognize two absolute ESPN Top 10 caliber goals this weekend from Sebastian Cano and Israel Cervantes – the kind of moments that remind everyone just how special this group can be. This team continues to grow, compete, and show what it means to play for each other – really proud of these young men!”

Coach Dante Johnson said “The State 48 2012 Boys Elite squad made history at the Ostrich Festival Tournament of Champions, winning the Championship in the premier division with an impressive 4-0 record, conceding just one goal while scoring 14 across four games. This tournament marked a triumphant redemption arc, as three of the teams they faced were opponents they’d never beaten before. The journey began with a hard-fought 1-0 win; the winning goal came courtesy of Stryker Johnson’s decisive strike early in the second half. In the second game, Gael Benitez set the tone with a lightning-fast goal just 10 seconds in, hitting a precise 22 yard shot into the upper corner. The team dominated the match, securing a 9-0 victory, with Damien Avila standing out for his tenacious play and two goals and one assist from the left back position. The semifinal against another previously unbeaten opponent proved just as challenging, but Aiden Puente’s match winning goal sealed a 1-0 win. We won the final with a hard earned 3-1 triumph. Aiden Puente scored twice, including a stunning goal, while Stryker Johnson added an excellent free kick. The outstanding defense was led by goalkeeper Kristopher Armenta, Damien Avila, Ricky De la Rosa, Dylan Sheesley, and Steahl Kappler. As the saying goes, ‘Offense scores points, defense wins championships,’ and this victory was a testament to the team’s rock-solid defensive unit. Great job by the entire team!”

Coach Armando Juarez said “The State 48 FC 2019 Boys Black (North) Scorpions team went undefeated in the Ostrich Festival Tournament of Champions, winning the Championship in style. We won our matches by the scores of 7-1, 3-0 and 4-3 in a challenging final. What a tournament for our talented little giants!”

Overall, it was a fantastic weekend for many State 48 FC teams. The State 48 FC 2016 Gray team won the championship in the Ostrich Festival Tournament of Champions in dominating fashion. We also had an excellent showing at the Inferno Cup Tournament, as the State 48 FC 2018 Black (Verrado) team, the 2014 Boys White (Avondale) team and the State 48 FC 2103 Boys Copper (Avondale) team all won championships. Additionally, the State 48 FC 2018 White (Avondale) team and the State 48 FC 2015 Elite team were tournament Finalists, while the State 48 FC 2016 Black (Verrado) team and the State 48 FC 2012 Girls Black (Avondale) team came in 3rd place in the competition.

Congratulations to all our State 48 FC players and coaches – we are very proud of you! One Family, One Mission!

The State 48 FC 2007 / 2008 Boys Black (North) team won the RSL-AZ College Showcase Tournament Championship, defeating a number of top quality teams along the way. The team recorded an impressive four victories in a row, displaying a high level of technical proficiency, grit and determination enroute to winning the title. Goal scorers included Elias Curiel (3), Alex Bess (2), Justin Lee (2) while Jonah Banuchi, Riggs Beck and Gavin Volkmann recorded 1 each. Tournament MVP was Tri-Captain Jonah Banuchi, who was outstanding in every match.

Coach Alessio Altomare said “The State 48 FC 2015 Elite team won the AZFC Select Invitational Tournament Championship! This group never wavered in their commitment to play excellent soccer. They stuck to their style of play, competed with heart and came out on top, which says a lot about their character. Our central spine was exceptional – Luis Diaz, Juan Chavez, Joshua Madrigal, Emiliano Martinez, Enzo Altomare and Kade Brannon were all outstanding. Congratulations to every single player – you earned it!”

Coach Carlos Bastidos said “Playing in their very first tournament, the State 48 FC 2017 Boys Black (Verrado) team are AZFC Select Invitational Tournament Champions! We won our first two matches by the scores of 16-0 and 4-1. The emotionally charged championship match saw the game end in a 2-2 draw – so we went to penalty kicks, where our excellent GK Rene Carderas saved 2 spot kicks as we converted ours. Great win – I am very proud of this group!”

Coach Cisco Flores said “The State 48 FC 2013 Boys Black (Verrado) team won the AZFC Select Invitational Tournament Championship! We outscored the opposition 12-3 along the way, to include a dominant 7-1 victory in the championship match. We also secured 1st Place in League play with a dominating 5-1 victory – winning both the tournament and the League title during the busy weekend. I am very proud of this great group of players!”

Coach Brian Craig said “The State 48 FC 2013 / 2014 Girls Black (Verrado) team secured the top spot in Open League Division III to finish out the season, with an outstanding +11 goal differential. The girls also played in the AZFC Select Invitational Tournament, finishing as Finalists. I am very impressed with the team – these girls understand how to grind and stay competitive in every game.”

Coach Hector Roman said “The State 48 FC 2016 Boys Gray (Avondale) team closed out our second League season with a perfect record of 6-0, scoring 40 goals while conceding only 1. This group continues to impress and improve with each passing week – I am proud of every member of the squad!”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC 2013 Black (Avondale) team put on an amazing display of soccer in the AZ Select Invitational Tournament – playing in the Gold Bracket, not conceding a goal in 3 games and finishing the tournament as Finalists. They played their hearts out all weekend and grinded from beginning to end. It was an intense final where we dominated much of the game and played well. Many times we dictate progress and success by wins and losses but forget about the growth and development of the team. Sometimes you play well and don’t get the outcome that you deserve. But, at the end of the day, teaching our players to play this beautiful game of soccer the right way and with integrity, so it can prepare them for the future, is what it’s all about. We will always be proud of our team, regardless of the outcome – we are proud to represent State 48 FC with Pride and Honor!”

Coach Rudy Urquiza said “The State 48 FC 2016 White (Avondale) team participated in the AZFC Select Invitational Tournament. We won two games by the scores of 6-1 and 10-1 as we qualified for our third consecutive final. The kids pushed themselves to the limit all weekend as we finished as Finalists. I am very proud of this team and how hard they are willing to work!”

Coach Mya Crowley said “The State 48 FC 2017 Girls Black (Avondale) team had a fantastic AZFC Select Invitational Tournament, showing great teamwork, effort, and determination in every game. They improved tremendously, supported each other, and never gave up. All their hard work paid off with an impressive 2nd place finish as Finalists.”

Coach Celia Rascon said “The State 48 FC 2013 / 2014 Girls Black (Avondale) team have displayed so much growth over the course of the season. As a developmental team starting from scratch, these girls have come together to motivate and uplift each other to be better every practice and game! I could not be more proud of this group of girls who have continued to show up for themselves and each other!”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC 2017 Boys White (Avondale) team played AZFC Select Invitational Tournament against some tough and experienced teams. We made it to the semi-finals and played quite well – the highlight of the weekend was a dominating 12-2 victory in our first match. This tournament showed us that we can compete against anyone, in any condition. Extremely proud of our team for playing their hearts out and never giving up – very exciting to see them compete at a high level.”

State 48 FC would like to congratulate 2007 /2008 Boys Black (North) team standout Dominic Bartinelli, who played an integral part in helping his Sunrise Mountain HS win the 6A State Championship for the second year in a row! We are all very impressed with you and your team’s tremendous accomplishment Dominic!

Congratulations to all our State 48 FC players and coaches – we are very proud of you! One Family, One Mission!

Coach Anthony Sagahun said “The State 48 FC 2018 White (Avondale) team delivered a dominant, undefeated performance this weekend in winning the Max Shacknai Tournament Championship (2018 Gold Bracket). We won our first two matches with identical scores of 3-0, with disciplined and resilient performances in each match. In our final match, we delivered an explosive performance, winning 10-1 in dominant fashion. The team’s success was defined by exceptional creativity and technical growth. Players demonstrated ball control, field awareness (scanning), creating space and the physical strength necessary to control the games. I am extremely proud of our progress and commitment as a team.”

The State 48 FC 2007 2008 Boys Black (North) team were Finalists in the Max Shacknai Tournament. The team won their first three matches against some very strong opposition and played for the championship on Sunday, where the game was decided only after it went to penalty kicks – thirteen rounds, to be exact. The team was outstanding throughout the weekend, putting in high quality performances in every match. Goals from Ryan Beck (2), Alex Bess (2), Antonio Roque (2), while Danny Castillo, Nathan Faulconer and Angel Pacheco scored 1 goal each – an impressive 10 goals for and only 1 against for the tournament. The tournament Most Outstanding Player award goes to team captain and defensive stalwart Jace Barlow, who was magnificent in every match.

Coach Alessio Altomare said “The State 48 FC 2015 Elite team made it to the Finals of the U12 Silver bracket of the Max Shacknai Tournament. The team played beautiful soccer, winning our bracket and then dominating the semifinal. It was a great challenge (playing up one or even two age groups for some) and, in our second ever U12 tournament, we are very satisfied with the performances and most importantly with the mentality that these players displayed. Special mention for our tournament MVP, team captain Luis Diaz, who showed leadership, competitiveness and great maturity against older players. Coach is very proud!”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC 2013 Black (Avondale) team had a tough, gritty performance in their League game. Alex Trejo scored the game winning goal with 3 minutes left with an impressive shot from just inside the box – this timely finish keeps us undefeated in League play. This game was won because of the outstanding team defense we displayed – we locked it down and kept a shutout. We are extremely proud of the team’s growth and continued improvement.”

Coach Donovan Graydon said “The State 48 FC 2015 / 2016 Black (Laveen) team played an amazing game on Saturday, winning 5-0 against a strong opponent. The team was led by captain Hugo Walker, who was everywhere on the field. He did a tremendous job of picking up his head and finding open spaces on the field in addition to setting up his teammates for many goal scoring opportunities. Enzo Juarez, Jackson Sanchez, Angel De La Rosa, Christian Hernandez, Angel Cano and Levi Gualajara also turned in fine performances. Super proud of the effort the team gave!”

Coach Rudy Urquiza said “The State 48 FC 2016 White (Avondale) team played an Arizona Academy League match and won by the score of 4-1. Our captain of the day, Leo Marroquin-Mendoza, had an excellent game! He dictated the game by providing key passes in the center of the midfield, winning the ball back and scoring a great goal on a volley. Very proud of this group!”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC 2017 Boys White (Avondale) team played two matches this weekend, drawing the first match 4-4 and winning the second match 4-1. In both games, the team showed great passing, moving and outstanding execution in front of goal. I am extremely proud of our team for their effort, hustle and resilience. They always find a way to push through it all under any circumstance. A total team effort – looking forward to many more battles like this!”

Coach Moises Perez said “The State 48 FC 2015 Copper (Avondale) team played a league match where the team showed strength and courage! The level of play was quite high – good passing, good movement and helping each other. throughout the game. Our key players were AJ Nava and Jasiah Roman, who turned in excellent performances.
Coach Alessio Altomare said “The State 48 FC 2015 Boys Elite team captured the Championship at the Desert Classic Tournament with an outstanding performance across the board. Four games, four wins, 35 goals scored and only 2 conceded. Beyond the results, the biggest takeaway was the growth in how we approached each game. The boys played for one another, supported each other in every moment and truly showed up as a team. And when we showed up, we delivered.

Special shoutout to our goalkeepers Wyatt Bridge and Adriel Diaz, who combined for two clean sheets in four matches. Our defensive group, led by captain Luis Diaz alongside Juan Chavez, Sergio Villa and Edaen Manuel impressed with their composure and ability to build out from the back. In the midfield, Joshua Madrigal, Emiliano Martinez, and Jayden Gonzalez were outstanding in transition, setting the tempo and linking play. Out wide and cutting inside, Enzo Altomare, Kamron Lang, Jose Flores, and Jacob Gutierrez provided creativity, width and danger in multiple ways. Up top, striker Kade Brannon was a constant threat, combining speed and power while scoring some truly beautiful goals. Coach couldn’t be more proud of this group – great performances, great attitude and a great team effort!”

Coach Armando Velasco said “The State 48 FC 2013 / 2014 Girls Black (Verrado) team had a great weekend, winning the Desert Classic Tournament Championship! Since moving up a bracket, our girls have taken things to another level, working on our foundation and focusing on their roles on the pitch – their improvement has been impressive. We remain undefeated in 2026 – every player on the team played a part in the victories this weekend – excited and looking forward to the future!”

The State 48 FC 2016 Boys Copper (Avondale) team are back-to-back Desert Classic Tournament Champions! Coach Chris Chavez said “We went undefeated in the 2026 Desert Classic Tournament this past weekend. Very happy with the overall performance of the group – another strong showing! This team truly embodies the club motto ‘One Family, One Mission’!”

Coach Moises Perez said “The State 48 FC 2015 Copper (Avondale) team played against a challenging opponent this weekend. We started the match slowly and found ourselves behind 0-2, but we didn’t lose our composure. We kept pushing, making great passes and combinations, which led to us evening up the score at 2-2. In the second half the team locked in and emerged with an exciting 3-2 win; a great team effort! Our ‘Player of the Match’ was the inspirational AJ Navas, who scored an excellent hat trick of goals!”

Coach Cisco Flores said “The State 48 FC 2013 Boys Black (Verrado) team had a very tough match against the second place team in league play. We won the game with a free kick goal from team Captain Nicolas Amaya Vega. The team is showing good development and have not lost in the last 13 games – extremely proud of the boys for staying in first place. Vamos Verrado, Vamos State 48 FC!”

Coach Hector Garcia said “The State 48 FC 2013 Boys Copper (Avondale) team participated in the Desert Classic tournament at the Arizona Athletic Grounds facing top level competition. We recorded 1 win, 1 loss and 1 draw against some high-quality teams – very proud of the way the team competed. Our Tournament MVPs were Sebastian Sahyun and Roberto Sanchez – both players locked down their respective positions, playing fast and aggressive soccer while staying consistent the entire tournament. Their intensity, effort and discipline set the tone for the team.”

State 48 FC would like to recognize Jael Farfan of the 2013 Boys Black (Verrado) team for being named an Honor student. Coach Cisco Flores said “So proud of this young man, who works super hard on and off the field! Tremendous achievement Jael!

Congratulations to all our State 48 FC players and coaches – we are very proud of you! One Family, One Mission!
