Coach Dante Johnson of the State 48 FC Avondale 1011/2012 Boys Black team said “What a start to the season! The team made a big statement in their very first tournament of the season at the Phoenix Rising Cup, finishing as worthy Finalists. The boys battled through the division rounds and finished 3-0 with no goals conceded, earning 1st place in their division and a trip to the finals! Unfortunately, we came up a little short in the championship game – playing with only 13 available players all weekend in the Arizona heat definitely took a toll, but these boys never made excuses. They continued to fight, compete, and give everything they had until the final whistle. The sacrifices, commitment, effort, and willingness to battle for one another were on full display this weekend. This is only the beginning – we’ll continue developing, correcting, learning, and getting stronger together. The potential of this group is exciting, and I truly believe our best soccer is still ahead of us. Proud of this team. Proud of the fight. Proud of the journey!”
 

Coach Victor Ochoa said “The State 48 FC Northwest 2016/2017 Boys Black team came together for their first tournament and created moments we’ll never forget. From the opening whistle, these boys showed incredible heart, courage, teamwork and resilience. They challenged one another, lifted each other up, and continued to grow with every game. Their hard work carried them all the way to the Phoenix Rising Cup Tournament Championship Final. Although they fell just short of bringing home the trophy, they walked away with something even more meaningful: greater confidence, stronger bonds, valuable experience, and immense pride in what they accomplished together. Across four games, the boys scored an incredible 18 goals, while our keepers made an outstanding 27 saves!  Every goal, save, pass and battle reflected the commitment and belief this team is building. They showed that success is not only measured by trophies – it’s also found in the way a team responds, supports one another, and keeps moving forward together. We are so proud of these boys and everything they gave this weekend. This is only the beginning of their journey!”

Coach Frank Alongi said “The State 48 FC Verrado 2018/2019 Girls Black team played in their first tournament at the Phoenix Rising Cup. We played hard and continued to get better against great competition all weekend long. I am very proud of this amazing group of girls!”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC Avondale 2012/2013 Boys Black team became DC League & 250 American Cup back-to-back Champions! Great defensive play by Dani Holmedo, Liliana Rivera & Jayden Medina. Adrian Guzman, William Zaragoza, Alexis Lugo & Khristopher Aragon were also outstanding. Fantastic goals by Adrian Gomez (2 goals), Ricardo Lemus (1 goal), Samuel Velador (1 goal) & Alex Trejo (1 goal). A total team effort – extremely proud of our team because we’ve kept pushing and kept working, non-stop, all summer long!”

Coach Jaime Loya of the State 48 FC Casa Grande 2015/2016 Boys Black team said “Joel Ruiz-Mota had an amazing weekend performance – he was incredibly consistent throughout the weekend and showed his ability to adapt to different game situations and conditions. His effort, determination and growth have been amazing to watch. We would not have been able to compete with all these great teams without performances like his. This is exactly why we coach – watching players who started with little or no experience grow into confident, competitive players. I am very proud of our entire group!”

Coach Emilio Torres said “The State 48 FC South 2018/2019 Girls Black team competed against strong competition this past weekend. Caroline Rojo, who has worked hard throughout the summer and has been specifically working on building her confidence, helped lead our team to an impressive victory. After being up 1-0 at the half, Caroline scored the next two goals in the 2nd half just minutes apart, helping the team with her timely finishes. Caroline has never scored a goal in her soccer career until now, where she took advantage of her opportunities and finally had her time to shine! Well done to the entire team!”

Coach Frank Alongi said “The State 48 FC Verrado 2018/2019 Girls Black team are literally growing and developing right before our eyes. On Saturday we defeated a quality opponent in the Arizona Academy League. The result of the game was fantastic, but it’s how the girls played the game that was truly impressive. Aubrey Rockcastle tallied 5 goals and scored the goal of the match. The play was built from the back on a goal kick where all 4 players touched the ball – Aubrey made a brilliant run into space and Ellis Alongi delivered a perfect line breaking pass for a one touch finish! Gabby Garcia added 4 goals playing with consistent heart, grit, and determination. Bentley Bottoms added 2 goals, while Sienna Bell Ellis Alongi each had 2 assists. Very impressed with the girls!”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC Avondale 2017/2018 White team had a great battle in the Arizona Academy League this weekend. We started slowly, giving up a goal and trailing 0-1. But then we awoke and tied the game a with an excellent pass from Gyzer Aragon to Ezra Sanchez, who scored a fine goal. Moments later Gyzer hit an unstoppable free kick that gave us the 2-1 lead. Samuel Garcia then sealed the game with a great goal from a crossed ball. The team had exceptional passing, moving and a tremendous overall defensive performance. Aaron Villagomez, Johan Gallardo, Jaxson Ortiz, Isaiah Marquez, Mauro Ochoa & Moises Perez played wonderfully well from start to finish in the 3-1 victory!”

Coach David Herrera said “The State 48 FC Verrado 2019/2020 Boys Black team played a phenomenal match against a previously undefeated opponent. Goliath Herrera controlled the center of the midfield and scored an impressive hat trick of goals; Xavi Lopez used his speed and passing to control the wings, scoring a fine goal and making play after play while Christopher Delgado – with his relentless on ball pressure – caused our opponents fits with his work rate and aggressiveness. I am so proud of the way these boys played!”

Coach Jose Quezada said “The State 48 FC South 2017/2018 Boys Black team had a great weekend, winning their debut match in the Arizona Academy League by the score of 4-3. Our captain and striker Manny Quezada had all 4 goals in an outstanding display. Our goalkeeper Remmy Ocampos came up clutch with great saves to seal the victory – very proud of this group.”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC Avondale 2012/2013 Black team had an outstanding performance in their Friday Final in the DC League, defeating their opponent 8-1 to become undefeated Champions!! The team came out of the blocks quickly, scoring 6 goals in 10 minutes – Samuel Velador scored 4 goals, while Alexis Lugo and Adrian Gomez scored 2 goals each. Our defense was truly impressive, with Liliana Rivera leading the way. On Saturday, we followed up with a semi-final second leg in an intense battle, defeating our opponents 3-0 (7-2 aggregate scoreline). Our goalkeeper Khristopher Aragon was extraordinary, keeping a clean sheet with his outstanding saves. A great performance by everyone on the team.”

Coach David Herrera said “The State 48 FC Verrado 2019/2020 Black team played on Friday night, with excellent goal scoring from both Xavi Lopez and Goliath Herrera. Goliath did a great job controlling tempo from both the attacking and defensive central midfield positions. Elijah Marquez and Christopher Delgado were excellent on the wings, scoring goals and defending very well. Overall, great possession soccer from the whole group!”

Coach Frank Alongi of the State 48 FC Verrado 2018/2019 Girls Black team said “The girls continued to build on their summer of technical skill development by improving their spacing and ball movement. This led to Bentley Bottoms scoring an impressive hat trick and delivering an assist, while Aubrey Rockcastle added 2 goals and an assist. Big things are coming for this group of dedicated girls and their families!”

Coach Victor Ochoa said “Great game for the State 48 FC Northwest 2016/2017 Boys Black team this past weekend. The boys came out strong, connected well with their passes, and really enjoyed playing the game. Our defense also played strong and held their own throughout the game as we won 4-2. Goal scorers were Ethan Ramirez with a brace of 2 goals while Arian Torres and Seth Bernard scored 1 each. Overall, it was a great performance and a good step forward for the team – we’re continuing to build chemistry, confidence, and consistency!”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC Avondale 2017/2018 White team had a fantastic Arizona Academy League match on Friday. It was an intense, back and forth battle throughout, but we were able to come out with a hard fought 3-1 victory. An extraordinary goal by Gyzer Aragon tied the match, which changed the momentum of the game. Great goals by Ezra Sanchez and Aaron Villagomez, who never gave up pressuring the ball. Our defender Johan Gallardo and our goalkeeper Moises Perez held it down in our defensive third – a great team win!”

Coach David Herrera said “The State 48 FC Verrado 2019/2020 White team had a nice weekend of soccer, showing great intensity, possession and ball movement in addition to excellent reading of the game on the defensive end from many players. Nathanael Bobadilla showed outstanding leadership on the field, Scarlette Allen scored 4 goals, while Sebastian Gonzalez, Isaiah Tajeda and Austin Flume also created numerous opportunities. Very happy with the team’s effort and performance.”

Coach Anthony Sagahun said “The State 48 FC 2018 White (Avondale) Sharks ended their season on a high note, capturing the Championship in their bracket at the AZFC 7v7 Tournament. The impressive Gyzer Aragon scored an amazing 13 GOLAZOS throughout the course of the tournament. I want to thank the entire group for their year round commitment and hard work. It was a season defined by incredible memories and individual excellence. So glad to represent State 48 FC!”

Coach Hector Garcia said “The State 48 FC 2013 Boys Copper team continued their impressive run in the top bracket of the Presidents Cup with a dominant 3-0 victory over a strong opponent, securing their spot in the semifinals. The team showed composure, intensity, and quality. Match MVP Abraham Loera delivered a standout performance, finding the back of the net twice and having a huge impact in the win. Excellent performance from the entire team.”

The State 48 FC 2007 / 2008 Boys Black North team had a strong performance in the Arizona State Cup Championships this past weekend, recording a draw and a win. On Friday night, the team drew 1-1 in a very tense, exciting contest. On Sunday, the team played a fantastic match in an excellent 2-0 win. Winger Gavin Volckmann scored the game winning goal, with midfielder Danny Castillo adding the insurance tally. Goalkeeper Keanu Garcia recorded a shutout, while defenders Jace “The Sheik” Barlow, Tristan Costanzo, Dominic Bartinelli and Ethan Crabtree were all outstanding. The midfield of Moses Baca, Angel Pacheco and Danny Castillo controlled the match with their skillful play and tenacity, while attackers Gavin Volckmann, Alex Bess, Antonio Roque and Jacob Van Buskirk were a constant threat to the opposition goal. Tremendous weekend from the entire group of players!”

The State 48 FC 2013 Black (Avondale) team is now ranked in the Top 10 in Arizona, as well as the Region, by Got Sport. Coach Rogelio Aragon said “This is the biggest accomplishment yet by our extraordinary group! This team was built on dedication, hard work, integrity, respect and love for one another. Countless hours of putting in work and fighting every step of the way got us here today! Development and commitment are the key – every player brings something unique to this outstanding team. Coach Alessio Altomare said “The State 48 FC 2015 Elite team had a fantastic start to our very first Presidents Cup U11 Gold campaign! In Game 1, we were down 0–1 at halftime but came out in the second half with a new attitude and earned a hard fought 2–1 win. It was an impressive performance from everyone. The next day, we showed up ready to compete and have fun, securing another solid result with a 3–1 victory. We’re currently sitting on top of the bracket, but we know the journey is just beginning – and we’re ready for what’s next!”

Coach Moises Perez said “The State 48 FC 2015 Boys Copper (Avondale) team had a great start in the Presidents Cup. We won our first match 3-1, having many good moments and showing great chemistry throughout the match. We followed up with a strong performance in our second match, winning a close game 2-1. We are currently 1st in our group – but there is a lot to work still to do. Standout performances from Jesus Ojer and Jayden Juarez in these matches – but the entire team deserves recognition for their excellent contributions.”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 2013 Black (Avondale) team played our final League game and stayed undefeated for the second consecutive season, tying for 1st place. We are extremely proud of every single player on the team, for stepping up when their name is called and being ready to compete. Their dedication and hard work is tremendous – let’s keep it going!”

Coach Javier Frausto said “The State 48 FC 2011 Boys Black (Avondale) team put on a clinic in grit and perseverance in their Presidents Cup match. We went behind 0-2 in the first half but, after a halftime conversation, which included plenty of player input, we roared back with a second wind that had the opponent on the back foot for the remainder of the match – we scored 2 goals in the second half to earn a well deserved 2-2 draw. Very proud of the boys and their effort!”

Coach Irwin Moreno said “Shoutout to Coach Oscar Macias for putting together an outstanding small sided / street soccer opportunity for many of our Academy age group players this past weekend. It was a great event full of talent, creativity, fun and, most importantly, player development! Great job Coach Oscar and everyone who showed up!”

Great performances from Sergio ‘Chuky’ Villa, who was outstanding in transition on the left side of the field as well as Emiliano Martinez, who showed his tactical and technical abilities across every game and scored important goals. A tremendous performance by the entire team as we won our 6th Tournament Championship of the year!”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC 2017 White (Avondale) team had a dominating performance in the Tuzos Challenge Tournament against some very tough, experienced teams as we won the Championship! We won our matches by the score of 7-1, 3-1 and 3-2 as we progressed to the final. In the championship match, it was a battle from start to finish in a very tight game. Our excellent team defense was the difference in winning the championship by the score of 3-1. This tournament showed us that we can compete against anyone in any conditions. I am extremely proud of our team for playing hard and never giving up!”

Coach Heber Valenzuela said “The State 48 FC 2018 (North) team played in the Gold bracket at the Brazas Ginga Champions Tournament this past weekend displaying teamwork, grit, and tenacity! Our boys came out on top of the bracket (alongside our brothers from the State 48 FC 2018 Avondale Cobras team) with convincing 5-3 and 8-3 victories. Special mentions go to Marcos David for his overall performance by being versatile in different positions, Madhi for his ability to contribute on defense and in the attack, Liam for his high energy recovering balls in the middle, Damien for his speed and ability to play on defense and in attack when needed, and Jesus for his collective work with his teammates. Coach Armando Juarez said “The State 48 FC 2019 Boys Black (North) Scorpions team played in the Brazas Ginga Champions Tournament, winning both games by convincing scores to finish top of the bracket. We won the 1st game 7-3 and won the 2nd game 8-3. It was a truly dominant performance from our outstanding group – very proud of this team!”

Every player competed at a high level and made a significant contribution – wonderful job by this team! Very proud of the commitment as well as the overall growth of these players.”

Coach Hector Garcia said “The State 48 FC 2013 Boys Copper (Avondale) team played in the Yavapai Cup Tournament this weekend in Prescott, AZ. The boys played extremely well all weekend, finishing as Finalists. Our MVP for the tournament was Abraham Loera, who was outstanding. I am very proud of the team and the strides they continue to make every week!”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC 2013 Black (Avondale) team played in the Tuzos Challenge Tournament against very strong competition. The highlight of the weekend was playing against the top rated team in the state and the region – we came out with intensity, focus, a chip on our shoulder – and we dominated from start to finish, playing with toughness and intensity – which led to our biggest win of the season and team history. We proved to ourselves and to everyone that we are the real thing! We are extremely proud of our team and their growth! We are thankful and grateful for this great group of players, who put it all on the line for each other time after time! This is a testament to trusting the process – now we are here!”

Coach Javier Frausto said “The State 48 FC 2011 Boys Black (Avondale) 2011B had an amazing experience this weekend. We played a league game and won comfortably by the score of 4-0. The team was instructed to build up, find off the ball space / angles, possess and pick their spots. They executed admirably and played very well! We then played in the Brazas Ginga Champions Tournament, where we faced two of the best teams in the state – although we did not win either match, we played very well and were right there in each game. This group of boys did not retreat, drop their heads or back off in the face of such a challenge. They relished the battle and in doing so confirmed what I’ve known – when met with adversity on any level they’re more than capable of putting it all together. Salute to these young men who are excited to keep improving and measuring themselves against anybody, anywhere! Great weekend for these players!”

Coach Rudy Urquiza said “The State 48 FC 2016 White team played two matches, drawing the first match 2-2 and winning the second match comfortably by the score of 9-2. I continue to be impressed with the high level of play exhibited by these fantastic young players!”

Coach Rudy Urquiza said “The State 48 FC 2016 White (Avondale) team participated in the Copper State Challenge Tournament. Our first game was against a solid opponent, and the match was highlighted by GK Omar “Campos” Cortez, who made some brilliant saves to keep a clean sheet and help the team to the victory. We lost our second game 2-3, which meant we had to win our next match to advance to the finals, which we did convincingly by the score of 8-3. The Championship proved to be a very close match against a strong opponent. We were the first ones to strike off a corner goal by Angel Medina, taking a 1-0 lead. We kept the opposition at bay for almost the entire match, but they scored off a free kick late in the game to even the match at 1-1. The champions were to be decided by a penalty shootout! These kids were so excited that they did not fear the moment and gladly volunteered. The first penalty was scored by Akai Lim. Their first shot was stopped by our goalkeeper, Omar “Campos” Cortez. Our second penalty was scored by Angel Medina. They scored their second penalty. Our third scorer was Nolan Alvarez. Their player ended up hitting the crossbar and out. It came down to our Captain, Adam Urquiza – if he made his kick we would be crowned champions. Adam did not let the pressure get to him – he wound up and calmly struck the ball into the bottom left corner for the win! We are the 2026 Copper State Challenge Tournament Champions! We are very proud of each player, as their resiliency, dedication and hard work was evident all season long. Amazing job by the group!”

Coach Cisco Torres said “The State 48 FC 2103 Boys Black (Verrado) team competed in the Copper State Tournament over the weekend and won the Championship! We won our first match 3-0 in the midday heat. In the second match we faced a very strong opponent – the hard fought game was even until the last five minutes, when striker Chase Hammer outran the defense and scored a goal to give us the victory. We won our third game 2-0, showing excellent ball possession and retention as we won the title, with goalkeeper Ricardo Ramirez keeping a clean sheet in every match. Our MVP’ s go to Carlitos Abarca and Chris Martinez, who were amazing in every match. I am so impressed with how much our players have continued to develop – another outstanding weekend for the team – coach is proud!”

Coach Armando Juarez said “The State 48 FC 2019 Black (North) Scorpions played in the Phoenix Cup this weekend, winning our 2nd consecutive tournament. The team played very well, winning the final in dominant fashion by the score of 8-3. The team is making tremendous strides with their communication, ball control, passing and finishing – excellent job team!”

The State 48 FC 2007 / 2008 Boys Black (North) team played in the Phoenix Cup this weekend against some outstanding competition and finished as Finalists. The team won their opening match 1-0 against New Mexico, dominating the match before finally getting the game winner with a brilliant strike from defender Dominic Bartinelli. The team continued to impress with a fine 2-0 win against a tough Canadian opponent in the withering heat with fine goals from Jacob van Buskirk and Danny Castillo. In the third match, the team faced another formidable foe – the effort and commitment were impressive to see as the team won again by the scoreline of 2-0, with goals from striker Alex Bess and Captain / winger Gavin Volckmann. Although the team came up short in the final, the overall play was tremendous. The defense was outstanding all weekend long with three straight shutout performances – led by Captain Jace Barlow, Moses Baca, Dominic Bartinelli, Ethan Crabtree and Tristan Costanza. The midfield of Captain Jonah Banucci, Angel Pacheco, Danny Castillo Riggs Beck, Elias Curiel and Alex Garcia controlled every game while attackers Alex Bess, Gavin Volckmann, Antonio Roque, Jacob van Buskirk and Justin Lee were constant threats to score.”

Coach Anthony Sagahun said “The State 48 FC 2018 White (Avondale) Sharks team capped off a highly successful season with a strong performance in the Gold Bracket of the Phoenix Cup Tournament this past weekend. The Sharks started the tournament with a hard fought 2-1 victory, followed by a dominant 8-0 win in the next match to secure a spot in the finals. The championship match was an intense battle between two high level teams, but we ended up losing the game 2-4. Despite the loss, the team remains focused on growth and learning from the experience. A standout performer this weekend was Adrian Ahumada, who played with exceptional heart and determination. His defensive skills and “grit” were instrumental in creating scoring opportunities for his teammates. Congratulations to the Sharks on a fantastic season!”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC 2017 Boys White (Avondale) team played in the Copper State Tournament and finished as Finalists, playing Silver Bracket against some great teams! They played outstanding soccer in the scorching heat and gave it all they had. The passing, energy and teamwork was extraordinary as we made it to the final match after securing two excellent wins (8-2 and 7-0) in bracket play. I am very proud of this group!”

Coach Brian Craig said “The State 48 FC 2013 / 2014 Girls Black (Verrado) team played in the TFC Spring Cup Tournament this past weekend, where we finished with 2 wins and 1 loss. This team defines perseverance – in our second match, we were behind 0-1 in the first minute of the game but battled throughout the match to pull off a 2-1 win, which turned out to be one of my favorite games to watch this season. These girls are connecting passes, implementing attacking and set piece tactics, while also playing excellent defense with coverage and communication. Great job ladies!”

Coach Carlos Bastidos said “The State 48 FC 2017 Boys Black (Verrado) team had a very good experience in the TFC Spring Cup Tournament. It was a scorching weekend, but the boys overcame this and played very well. We placed 2nd in the tournament with 2 wins and 1 loss. The boys have shown growth in their teamwork and technical skill. I’m truly proud of every one of our players – this will only get better as the team grows together.”

Coach Sean Venesky said “The State 48 FC 2010 Boys Black (El Mirage) team entered the Phoenix Cup Tournament facing a tough out-of-state schedule. A Northern California opponent brought high intensity, but our boys matched it with resilience and determination. Bayron Duarte found the back of the net off a well-delivered corner from Juan Maans to give us the lead. Unfortunately, a late goal from the opposition resulted in a 1–1 draw. In Game 2, the team focused on possession and controlling the tempo. Through strong movement and communication, the boys executed their game plan and came out on top against a good Colorado side, with Juan Maans scoring the decisive goal. Heading into Game 3, it was a must-win situation to advance to the championship. The boys battled hard but found themselves trailing 0–1. Refusing to give in, they showed tremendous fight and composure. A perfectly executed set piece from Juan Maans led to the equalizer, finished by Mark Infante. Despite finishing the tournament undefeated with a win and two draws, the team was unfortunately eliminated. Still, the growth, effort, and character displayed by the boys throughout the tournament was undeniable – and they continue to build toward even greater success.”

Coach Rogelio Aragon said “The State 48 FC 2013 Black (Avondale) team had a great run in the Copper State Tournament, playing against top ranked teams in Arizona. We played our hearts out against some tough competition and never backed down. The biggest highlight of the tournament was defeating the #6 ranked team in the state in a rugged 2-1 contest, which is our biggest win of the season. We are extremely proud of our team, because we demonstrated that we are here to stay and will compete against anyone!”

Phoenix was host to an MLS Next Tournament event over the weekend, and some State 48 FC players were asked to come and guest play for some high level teams who participated in the event. Gavin Volckmann & Jonah Banucci from the 2007 / 2008 Boys Black (North) team, Scott Nguyen, Acxel Romero & Jayden Rosales from the 2011 Boys Black (Avondale) team and Nolan Steele, Corbin Keena, Sebastian Cano, Juan Manns, Santiago Gonzalez & Daniel Aceves from the State 48 FC 2010 Boys Black (El Mirage) team were able to showcase their talents and represented State 48 FC in an outstanding manner. Great job boys – very well done!

Coach Armando Juarez said “The State 48 FC 2019 Black (North) Scorpions team played two league games on Friday and two friendly games at the CCV Jamboree on Saturday. We won all four games with dominant performances by the scores of 16-3, 13-1, 9-3 & 10-3, respectively. Every one of our players was exceptional – we had outstanding performances by Lucas Juarez (16 goals), Mario Villavicencio (11 goals), Milo Valenzuela (8 goals), Mason Delgadillo (5 goals), Calvin Grado and Camden Simpson (4 goals each). Our little ones are showing tremendous improvement and are displaying excellent attacking soccer – we are very proud of them!”

Coach Moises Perez said “The State 48 FC 2015 Copper (Avondale) team had their final league match, winning 2-0 in impressive fashion against a strong opponent. We defended well, were more accurate with our passing and played more aggressively. Maximus Aguero scored two excellent goals as we ended the league season in 2nd Place (by goal differential). I am very proud of our team for their outstanding efforts all season long!”

Coach Dante Johnson said “The State 48 2012 Boys Elite squad made history at the Ostrich Festival Tournament of Champions, winning the Championship in the premier division with an impressive 4-0 record, conceding just one goal while scoring 14 across four games. This tournament marked a triumphant redemption arc, as three of the teams they faced were opponents they’d never beaten before. The journey began with a hard-fought 1-0 win; the winning goal came courtesy of Stryker Johnson’s decisive strike early in the second half. In the second game, Gael Benitez set the tone with a lightning-fast goal just 10 seconds in, hitting a precise 22 yard shot into the upper corner. The team dominated the match, securing a 9-0 victory, with Damien Avila standing out for his tenacious play and two goals and one assist from the left back position. The semifinal against another previously unbeaten opponent proved just as challenging, but Aiden Puente’s match winning goal sealed a 1-0 win. We won the final with a hard earned 3-1 triumph. Aiden Puente scored twice, including a stunning goal, while Stryker Johnson added an excellent free kick. The outstanding defense was led by goalkeeper Kristopher Armenta, Damien Avila, Ricky De la Rosa, Dylan Sheesley, and Steahl Kappler. As the saying goes, ‘Offense scores points, defense wins championships,’ and this victory was a testament to the team’s rock-solid defensive unit. Great job by the entire team!”

Coach Armando Juarez said “The State 48 FC 2019 Boys Black (North) Scorpions team went undefeated in the Ostrich Festival Tournament of Champions, winning the Championship in style. We won our matches by the scores of 7-1, 3-0 and 4-3 in a challenging final. What a tournament for our talented little giants!”

Overall, it was a fantastic weekend for many State 48 FC teams. The State 48 FC 2016 Gray team won the championship in the Ostrich Festival Tournament of Champions in dominating fashion. We also had an excellent showing at the Inferno Cup Tournament, as the State 48 FC 2018 Black (Verrado) team, the 2014 Boys White (Avondale) team and the State 48 FC 2103 Boys Copper (Avondale) team all won championships. Additionally, the State 48 FC 2018 White (Avondale) team and the State 48 FC 2015 Elite team were tournament Finalists, while the State 48 FC 2016 Black (Verrado) team and the State 48 FC 2012 Girls Black (Avondale) team came in 3rd place in the competition.
