State 48 FC Weekly Update – 2/14

The State 48 FC 2013 Boys White team won the Del Sol Desert Classic Tournament Championship in impressive fashion (playing up a year in a challenging bracket) with Coach Eddie Vasquez stating that his team “played an excellent tournament and displayed some beautiful soccer” during the course of the weekend. Fantastic job and congratulations for the amazing championship performance!

The State 48 FC 2015 – 2016 Boys Black (Verrado) team played in the Del Sol Desert Classic as well, competing in the Silver bracket. The team had an outstanding tournament, winning all three matches they played and finishing in 2nd Place. Coach Alessio Altomare said “We played all higher ranked teams and we delivered! The boys played tough and smart – the team showed great ball control, had some fine passing combinations and displayed excellent teamwork.” Special mention for Goalkeeper James Kenney, whose hard work in training has enabled him to progress to a higher level – well done James!

The State 48 FC 2015 – 2016 Boys White (Verrado) team played in Del Sol Desert Classic Tournament also, and Coach Saul Bolanos was very complimentary of his entire team and their performance. His choice for ‘Player of the Tournament’ was Bienvenido Domingo, whose spectacular defensive play throughout the competition was instrumental in the team’s success. Coach Bolanos also singled out the strong performances of Jionni Loza (who scored 4 goals in the tournament) Bennett Crawford and Kaiden Adam.

State 48 FC 2013 Black team Coach Rogelio Aragon said of his group “I am extremely proud of how our team played – they showed great intensity, outstanding passing, unselfish play & most important of all amazing teamwork! A lot of pride, grit & toughness was shown as well, playing back to back games against strong competition – all the hard work in practice is paying off, and we are seeing it being implemented game by game.” Khristopher Aragon had a great free kick goal in a crucial moment of the first game, while Stanley Dovico, Adrian Guzman & Gavin Comer were outstanding in the midfield.

Congratulations to all of our State 48 FC teams and coaches – we are very proud of you!
