State 48 FC had a number of outstanding tournament performances this past weekend at the Arsenal Indoor Outdoor Challenge. The S48 FC San Luis 2010 / 2011 Boys team won the championship, playing with a high level of energy and technical ability in every match. Diego Ortega, Yael Topete, Miguel Lopez, Junior Esparza, Leonel Lagarda, Carlos Gonzales, Precious Angel and Damian Ramirez were all instrumental in the team’s success. The S48 FC 2013 team finished in 2nd place, posting 3 impressive wins and recording a + 13 goal differential against high caliber competition. Enzo Villafana scored 9 goals; Khristopher Aragon scored 5 goals and recorded 7 assists; Stanley Dovico had 6 goals; Donovan Siercke had 3 goals; Alexis Lugo and Gavin Comer scored a goal apiece. A great defensive effort was led by Liliana Rivera, Vincent Calderon, and Noah Ayana with excellent goalkeeping from Sebastian Gonzales and a fine contribution in the midfield from Adrian Guzman. The S48 2012 Boys team made great strides this weekend in the tournament, with 2 victories, 1 draw and 1 loss – a very fine showing where the team progressively improved every game.
